Cootie Catcher Art Tutorial

Step 1: Start with paper

• Use a square piece of paper 

Step 2:  (if it’s rectangular, fold one corner to the opposite edge to make a triangle and cut off the extra strip).

Step 3: Fold into a triangle

• Fold the square diagonally to make a triangle.

• Cut the rest of the paper off

Step 4: Fold the corners to the center

• Take each of the 4 corners and fold them into the middle point where the lines cross.

Step 5: Flip it around

• Flip the paper around, then take each of the 4 corners and fold them into the middle point where the lines cross.

Step 6: Form the shape

• Fold the square in half (like a rectangle), then unfold.

• Fold it the other way, then unfold again.

• Gently open the bottom and slide your thumbs and index fingers into the four pockets.

Step 7: Use it

• Write:

  • Colors on the outside

  • Numbers inside
